What is Invisible Fences and Being An Elegant Thinker All About?

If you’re someone who’s ever felt your mind pulling in too many directions at once — if you've ever doubted your own thinking, only to find a strange kind of grace hidden inside the struggle — you’re in the right place.

We all live with boundaries we can't always see. Some are built from fear, others from habit. Some are stitched together from doubt, confusion, or the simple messiness of being human. These are our invisible fences — not walls that keep us imprisoned, but soft lines that shape the way we think, dream, and move through the world. This site is a journey to recognise those fences, question them, and — whenever possible — step gracefully beyond them.

 

My thoughts don’t always make sense. Sometimes they make decisions so quickly they barely consult my brain before they pass and other times one thought will multiply until it floods my body. But buried inside the noise is a desire: to think better. To think more elegantly. To move through the world with a mind that's curious, clear, and beautifully unfinished. Invisible Fences isn’t about arriving at perfect answers. It's about honoring the mess. It's about learning to build ideas that are strong because they come from places of vulnerability and uncertainty.

 

My Story

For those who wish to come along - while I can't always guarantee logic, what I can give you is someone equally as confused by life as everyone else, doing their best to become a more elegant thinker.

Life is full of unexpected challenges and I’ve spent years trying to navigate them. Sometimes I do this with grace, and other times I do it with a little less grace.

 

This blog is where I share my ongoing quest for clarity and understanding; a place to wander, to question, to build a mind that's less about being right — and more about becoming whole. I’m combining my life experiences with the tools and insights I’ve gained from CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), MBT (Mentalisation-Based Therapy), counselling, and the invaluable advice of those who are on this journey with me; those negotiating their own paths, and those who have walked the path before me.  It’s a space where I explore what it means to think clearly and live thoughtfully, even when the world—and my own mind—can feel a bit chaotic.

 

Through writing, reflection, and community, I’m learning to embrace the messiness of my thoughts and transform them into something more elegant and meaningful. I hope that by sharing my journey, I can offer a bit of inspiration or comfort to those who might be struggling to make sense of their own thoughts.
